Writers’ Rooms

13 Jul

One of my absolute most favourite pleasures in the world was when The Guardian used to feature Writers’ Rooms every Saturday in the review section. It’s been a year since the last one and I miss it every week. It’s not just the photos (which are deliciously revealing) but the author’s commentary on the space where their most creative and intimate thoughts tumble out of their head that really turns me on.

I’d be hard pushed to choose a favourite but I remember being pretty inspired by Siri Hustvedt’s workspace (below).

Bookshelf Porn

3 Jul

There are no words to describe how much this site has made my life. Go and look. It’s called Bookshelf Porn and it must have been made by someone who is as much of a book geek as me. Essentially, if you need to know anything more about me, know that I will spend my whole life working towards having a collection and a space as beautiful as any of those featured on the site.

I genuinely had palpitations when I discovered this site. It makes my heart race to see such amazing little libraries. I WANT I WANT I WANT.
